MALGHE is a Veronese dialect word, which indicates the typical cheese production sites located in the mountains around Verona. The recipe for this genuine cheese lies in the technique of “alpeggio”, which allows the cows to roam freely on the slopes of the Italian alps where they can feed on fresh mountain grass for a good part of the year. “Malghe” are traditionally the mountain shelter for the owner of the cattle, built in wood and stone, and they are the first site where dairy products are made to be sold from the producer to the consumer. A tasting of the typical mountain cheese is also possible, together with a visit of the farm and maybe a meal including genuine typical products.

By booking one of our guided tours, we will take you to visit one of the ancient vinegar producers and show ancient vinegar barrels and casks, illustrating the stages of production and maturation of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

Italy is very famous for the production of extra virgin olive oil. The production sites are usually located on the hills from where you can enjoy the scenery and take in the view of the Italian countryside during your visit.

The most exciting time of the year for a visit is during harvest, between the beginning of October and the beginning of December, when the olive oil mill is bustling with activity: producers bringing in large cases full of olives, presses and machines operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! If you are here at a different time of the year it is always possible to visit the plants and understand how extra virgin olive oil is made. Visits usually include a nice stroll in the olive grove where it will be possible to learn the story and secrets of olive trees. During the visit you will hear about all the steps of the production explained in details by your guide: olive washing, crushing, olive paste pressing, centrifugation, etc.

Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and a trained animal but it also involves the animal’s handler. The purpose of pet therapy is to help someone recover from or cope with a health problem or mental disorder. Dogs and horses are most commonly used in pet therapy. This relatively new type of treatment has shown very encouraging results and during our visit you will have a chance to hear everything about its practice and its results from the people who are actively involved. You will also meet the animals that the center uses for some of its patients and hear about the incredible relationship that they built with them.

Thanks to our cooperation with the Hospital and the University of Verona we can give the students a chance to dig deeper into the differences between the various health systems and explore how each of us can make healthier and more informed life choices. A tour of the Hospital will show you that this structure is the meeting point between research and service for the community.

Green Cross is a volunteer service engaged in cultural and sporting events. They guarantee continuous service at the Arena di Verona, both during the day and during performances as well as at the Bentegodi Stadium during games of the soccer league. Its headquarters operate as the operational center for civil protection.

Thanks to our cooperation with the Hospital and the University of Verona we can give the students a chance to dig deeper into the differences between the various health systems and explore how each of us can make healthier and more informed life choices. We will deal with real issues like nutrition, substance abuse, coping with stress and fitness. We also organize visits to the Green Cross headquarters, where students can see how this organization helps the community with first-aid and emergency services. Visits to the Pet-Theraphy Lab and to the Music-Theraphy classrooms are also available.
